Laura Cowan is a second career dietetic student studying at Kansas State University. Her food philosophy focuses around the idea of “bio-individuality” and to approach healthy eating with primarily unprocessed whole foods. She also believes that by encouraging healthy outlets to increase self-esteem allows the mind-body connection to naturally flourish, and by default, better food choices will be made. Outside of class, Laura’s hobbies include woodworking, photography, blogging, and baking.
My name is Kathleen Rovira, I’m a senior at the University of Alabama from Newport News Virginia, majoring in Food and Nutrition to pursue a career as a registered dietitian. I plan to complete a dietetic internship and continue my education with a master’s degree. My dietetic journey did not start until my Sophmore year as a nursing student when I first took my first nutrition class. That year, I decided to change my major to food and nutrition, a decision I will never regret. I have enjoyed my path towards becoming a registered dietitian and look forward to the next chapter of my journey. Outside of school, extracurricular activities, and work, I enjoy practicing yoga, hiking, cooking, traveling, drinking coffee, and hanging out with my boyfriend and puppy.
