Weight Loss Without Dieting

What I have learned from the Balance Program-

This program has helped me create change not only physically with my body but also intellectually about dieting. I have learned what foods to choose, how to balance food on my plate, portion control, identifying hunger and letting my body feel satisfied .  

I realize from this process that I now have the tools to understand my body, and the unique challenges I face. I don't ever have to consider a diet again for the rest of my life. I now have the tools and support system I need.

I don't have to count calories or worry about eating the "wrong foods". Instead, I learned what behaviors were not working for me and changing these behaviors as well as my mindset and beliefs, allows my body to go through the natural process of losing weight. I now recognize when I'm overeating and it's no longer a big deal or something to stress about . Some days I

still overeat,  but  now  I  just acknowledge it, and move forward. Since I have learned there is room for overindulgent days , I accept that I am not perfect and I will not always eat perfectly. Now I feel confident in my ability to make healthy choices like what to eat, how much to eat, when to eat and how to really enjoy it.  I'm also confident that I'm eating a healthy, nutritious diet. To me, my diet is my lifestyle/what I eat, not a temporary action I take.  It truly is a balancing act , but once we learn this, we can be free from the concept of " dieting ".

I also learned about patience and trusting in the process.  I made changes and allowed time to see the affects. By allowing myself the time and space to let these changes happen, I've naturally lost the weight I wanted to lose and my percent body fat is close to my goal. The weight itself doesn't matter much to me. For me it is about feeling good in my body; being physically fit, comfortable, and energetic. I have met these goals and know how to love and accept myself without judgment in all phases of the process.  I also know I can handle any future challenges that may come my way.
